Customer Appreciation Day at the Market
This week marks the end of the 2023 Bremerton Community Farmers Market, and we are celebration YOU with Customer Appreciation Day!
To start the day off at 3:30pm, the first 100 customers will get a FREE cupcake from Heathens Bakery. Please wait until the opening bell rings to get your treat. You must be present (in person) to get your cupcake...only one item per person.
Then stop by the Market Info booth and get your free ticket into our drawing for one of the remaining t-shirts and tote bags. Quantity and sizes include 4-extra small, 3 small, and 3 medium t-shirts, and 2 tote bags. Winners will not be able to pick sizes or type of prize; sizes and items gifted will be determined randomly. You must be present (in person) to get your drawing ticket...only one item per person. The drawing will take place after the Pet Parade and Costume Contest at 6pm. You do not need to be present to win.
While you're shopping, take the kiddos Trick or Treating around the vendors' booth. Everyone is encouraged to dress-up early for a BCFM Halloween! We know it's a Farmers Market, but who doesn't like a little candy as a treat.
We've had some great Music at the Market, thanks to Bremerton Office Machine Company who sponsored the program this year! Our closing act will be bend. They played opening day this spring and now they're back for our final performance. Brandon.Em.Nance.Dan are bend., a proud band of musicians who love to play music and create a vibe. No strangers to the stage, several members came from the Tacoma band, Guilded Lilly. Originals and covers are played in a style all their own. A little bluesy, a little punk, a little rock and a whole lot of soul to entertain all music lovers. Influenced by multiple artists, bend. likes to bend genres and boundaries to make a one-of-a-kind musical experience. bend. - more than just a band, it's a vibe!
Last, but definitely not least, our Pet Parade and Costume Contest! The event will take place at 5pm and we have lined up the following guest judges...Mayor Greg Wheeler, Past BCFM Market Manager Angie Evans, Current BCFM Board President Kelly Mckinley, and local Business Owner Connie Pejka. To participate, in the parade and contest, please sign-up at the Market Info booth before 4:30pm on market day and gather next to the Music Tent at 4:45pm.
Kids Market Bucks Club
Bring your Kids Market Bucks with you to the market. The last day to use these is Thursday, October 12th. They don't roll over to next season.
Last Chance to Spend your Market Currency
We know a lot of you have a ton of market currency stashed around your homes, hidden in your cars, and buried in treasure chests. But what's it doing there? Come out to the Bremerton Community Farmers Market this Thursday, October 12th, to spend that money! Think of how much produce your market currency can buy; how many Christmas presents you can check off your list. Think of the honey, the pickles, and the meat. League of Women Voters at the Market
The League of Women Voters will have a booth at the market this Thursday. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan grassroots organization, and they encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government. Do you want to know about voting in WA State? Do you need to register to vote? Stop by their booth and find out how you can do this, and MORE!
What To Eat at the Market
Cafe Rendezvous will be at the market this week with American cuisine featuring burgers, sandwiches, and more!
Heathen's Bakery - will be at the market with their fabulous cookies, bars, trail mix and other desserts and snacks.
Island Lumpia serves fresh Chicken Adobo Lumpia, Beef and Veggie Lumpia, a Pork Lumpia, and a sweet Banana Lumpia. Try them all!
Los Encantos World Bakery serves breads and pastries from around the world, baked fresh in Bremerton. Experiment with a foreign cuisine without leaving the city!
Viking Ice Cream serves cool, tasty ice cream in a variety of flavors and sizes. This week they will be in their trailer and will be making fresh waffle cones!
Nutrition Programs at the Market
WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) benefits can be used at the Bremerton farmers market until our last day, October 12th, and through October 31st, at other markets around the area.
WIC CVB benefits can be used year-round at markets and farm stands at a variety of locations.
SNAP/EBT and P-EBT benefits can also be used year-round at other local farmers markets,
