The Bremerton Community Farmers Market’s Kids Market Bucks Club is modeled after a national program called “Power of Produce” with some fun added twists. The mission of our program is to educate and encourage children to take part in their local food system, meet the farmers that grow their food, and understand the benefits of eating healthy, nutritious foods.
The first Thursday of the month*, kids ages 3-12 are welcome to visit our Kids Tent with a parent or guardian and complete an activity. Once the activity has been completed, we’ll stamp their Kids Market Club Passport and give them $6 to spend on fresh fruits, veggies, and edible plant starts. Kids who complete ALL of the monthly activities will receive a special reward at the end of the season. Passports will be kept at the market, so participants don’t have to remember to bring them back each week.

Who Benefits?
This program will benefit children 3 to 12 years old, with an emphasis on healthy eating and living activities. Each monthly activity will differ.
Kids are empowered to make healthier food choices on their own by having direct buying power with the market bucks. Through the activities provided monthly, they are exposed to healthier food options and healthier lifestyle behaviors which will provide them a solid foundation and enhance their food literacy.
